Sakura Geisha

I worked on her again this week, so for Leap Day I thought it was time to share where I'm at.

HAED Krystal

At the end of last year I started my second HAED project, Krystal, by Fred Winkler. I only put in a few stitches before I stopped to work on other smaller projects, including Abi Gurden's Tree of Stitches, that I gave to my mother for Christmas.

But now those small projects are all completed, and so is the first page of QS Lovers, so I finally could go back to Krystal and finish my first page.  She's stitched on 25ct. white Lugana, 2x1 tent stitches.

HAED Freebie SAL 2012 - QS Lovers

I've finished page 1 of the HAED Freebie SAL. Now this goes away until April, when we receive the second page. This has been wonderful to stitch. I had a lot of fun with it!

HAED Freebie SAL 2012 - QS Lovers

Got a bit over half a page done now, and their faces are starting to show. I'm really enjoying this SAL. The way that HAED charts seem to make no sense at first, and all of a sudden the image appears on the pages, without any use of back stitching or quarter stitches, I think that's what makes people fall in love with stitching these HAEDs.

Sakura Geisha

I traveled to Brazil over the Holidays and put away all stitching for a few weeks, but I'm back to working on my Sakura, although the past weeks working on her weren't great, as I made a mistake that had me frogging a week's worth of stitching.

HAED Freebie SAL 2012 - QS Lovers

I'm officially back from my vacation, and although I arrived only a couple days ago I jumped right back into my stitching by starting the HAED SAL. I have about 1/3 of the first page done.

HAED Freebie SAL 2012 - QS Lovers

The HAED BB forums does a Stitch-a-long every year, where an unique pattern is given to the members, and everyone who completes it at the end of the year is eligible to win a free chart of their choice. Since everyone who comes in contact with HAED end up with a gigantic wish list, and since the freebies are so lovely, I joined several of my fellow stitchers this year, my first HAED SAL.

My pattern of choice was Nene Thomas's QS Lovers, and I'll be doing it 2 x 1 full crosses on 18ct Cream Aida.
